Southern United Academy of Sciences Limited, a recognized member of CrossRef, is committed to upholding the highest standards in scholarly publishing. To facilitate accurate identification, citation, and retrieval of research articles, each journal operated under our auspices assigns a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to every published article.
Principles Governing DOI Assignment
The allocation of DOIs adheres to the following principles to ensure integrity and efficiency:
Uniqueness: Each DOI assigned must be unique. This uniqueness is essential to prevent duplication and confusion among scholarly articles, thereby ensuring that each publication can be distinctly identified.
Exclusion of Explicit Readable Text: The DOI suffix must not contain any explicit readable text. This requirement helps maintain the integrity of the DOI system and prevents any potential misinterpretation or misrepresentation of the identifier.
We strictly follow Crossref's recommendations for DOI suffixes.
DOI Prefix and Suffix Structure
- DOI Prefix: The DOI prefix for all journals within the SCIMET series is 10.70393. This prefix is consistent across all publications to ensure a unified identification system.
- DOI Suffix Structure: The suffix of each DOI is constructed using the following format:

suffixA: This part consists of the lowercase hexadecimal abbreviation of the journal name. For example, if the journal abbreviation is ABC, then suffixA would be 616263, which is the hexadecimal representation of “abc”
suffixB: This part is the internal hexadecimal encoding of the article number. For example, if the internal article number is 123, then suffixB would be 313233, which is the hexadecimal representation of “123”
Example: If the journal abbreviation is ABC and the article internal number is 123, the resulting DOI would be “10.70393/616263.313233.”
