Author Guidelines
All manuscripts must be submitted through the online system or via email. Manuscripts submitted for publication must be prepared according to the following guidelines.
This guide aims to assist authors in preparing their manuscripts. To avoid any delays and time-consuming restructuring, JTS requires and encourages authors to read the guidelines before writing their manuscripts.
JTS publishes commentaries and research articles. All papers must be written in English and adhere to a clear and concise style. Language editing may be required to check the language and grammar of your submitted manuscript, and edits may be made as necessary.
1. Cover Letter
All submitted manuscripts must include a Cover Letter. Specific requirements regarding the Cover Letter can be found on the Cover Letter page.
2. Article Types
All papers must be written in English, and authors must select the appropriate article type before submission. Supported article types can be found on the Article Types page.
3. Templates
Manuscripts must be prepared using the Microsoft Word template. Specific information regarding the templates can be found on the Templates page.
4. General Format of Articles
Submitted manuscripts should include a title, abstract, author information, keywords, main text, and other relevant information, as well as back matter. Detailed requirements for each section can be found on the General Format of Articles page.
5. Authorship and Contribution
JTS mandates that the contributions of each author be declared and presented to all readers upon publication. Each author should meet specific criteria for authorship. Further details can be found on the Authorship and Contribution page.
6. Research Data and Supplementary Materials
In addition to guidelines for transparency regarding data, computer code, and research materials, JTS encourages authors to provide supplementary materials. The types and requirements for supplementary materials can be found on the Research Data and Supplementary Materials page.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Conflicts of Interest (COI), also referred to as "competing interests," may indicate factors that could affect the validity or objectivity of the research. Authors must declare all potential conflicts of interest; failure to disclose conflicts may result in manuscript rejection. Specific requirements can be found on the Conflicts of Interest page.
8. Data Sharing and Deposition
We encourage authors to include a data availability statement in their manuscript. This statement should provide information regarding the availability of research data and any restrictions or conditions related to data access. Specific requirements can be found on the Data Sharing and Deposition page.
9. Corrections and Retractions
JTS will issue corrections and/or retraction statements when deemed appropriate. Authors may also proactively submit corrections under specific conditions. Further information can be found on the Corrections and Retractions page.
10. Appeals and Complaints
JTS's appeals and complaints procedure addresses dissatisfaction with editorial decisions, inaccuracies in procedures (such as delays in manuscript processing), and complaints regarding publication ethics. Specific information can be found on the Appeals and Complaints page.
11. Publication Ethics and Integrity
Authors should also carefully review the publication ethics and integrity guidelines before submitting their manuscripts to ensure compliance with our publication requirements.
Specific information regarding Originality Requirements can be found on the Originality Requirements page. We also have a special policy regarding the use of AI in writing, which can be found on the Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy page. In addition to meeting the reference formatting requirements, authors must adhere to the Reference Citation Standards, detailed on the Reference Citation Standards page.
Furthermore, information on Misconduct, Submission of Duplicate and Redundant Manuscripts, Fabrication and Falsification, and Investigations and Sanctions can be found on the Publication Ethics and Integrity page.
